Counselling is a process that helps you deal with emotional and psychological issues that are causing you to feel stressed and unhappy.
We will work together at your pace to help develop inner resources to cope with what is troubling you. We will work in a caring, supportive and safe environment to enable you to focus on the issues that concern you. The approach that I take incorporates person-centred, gestalt, psychodynamic and CBT techniques to assist in this process.
As you understand more about yourself, you will become clearer about the underlying issues contributing to your emotional upsets. You will learn to develop more effective coping strategies. This may be about specific issues or your life as a whole.
Recognising how you operate within yourself and how you understand other people means you are going to cope better with the challenges of everyday life.
In turn, you will feel more confident, content and resilient to the pressures that continue to come your way. Your life will feel more exciting and easier as the difficulties that were previously present are navigated with more ease. As a result, a greater sense of wellbeing will develop.
